1,900+ Palestinian citizens of Israel have been arrested in the last month. Israel launched operation "Law and Order" in May, arresting anyone they suspected of protesting against the bombardment of Gaza, the attacks at Al Aqsa and the expulsion of families in Sheikh Jarrah.
"I have done nothing, I wasn't carrying a stone ... and I didn't argue." Israeli police shot a 16-year-old girl in the back outside of her home in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem. Jana Kiswani was hospitalized with a broken vertebra.
This is the moment Israeli police arrested and assaulted Al Jazeera's Givara Budeiri, who was covering a demonstration in Sheikh Jarrah. Her arrest drew sharp condemnation from press freedom advocates and media watchdogs ⬇
I saw a lot more instances of entirely unnecessary, provocative behavior by Israeli police/military today. At Damascus Gate (stun grenades thrown at peaceful Palestinian group), in Sheikh Jarrah (skunk water fired on Palestinian homes) & Bethlehem (volleys of tear gas)
We are 30% and they are 70%. They will come to power with the support of the 70%, they should be ashamed. If our Muslim population moves to one side then we can create 4 new Pakistans. Where will 70% of the population go?: TMC leader Sheikh Alam (24.03)
Landed in Dhaka. I thank PM Sheikh Hasina for the special welcome at the airport. This visit will contribute to even stronger bilateral relations between our nations.
