The first Asian American muppet to join “SesameStreet” has come in swinging: Ji-Young is a rockstar guitarist and skateboarder who is best friends with Elmo. Her character debuted in the wake of increased hate crimes against Asian Americans.

Her dream was to be a Muppeteer. Her Korean American ‘Sesame Street’ character just made history. An interview with Ji-Young and Kathleen Kim, the puppeteer:

Meet Ji-Young — the first Asian American muppet on "Sesame Street." She is Korean American and has two passions: rocking out on her electric guitar and skateboarding. She'll be formally introduced in a special that drops on Thanksgiving.

Telangana: A law student & a micro artist in Hyderabad has written 'Bhagavad Gita' on 4,042 rice grains. Ramagiri Swarika, artist says, "It took me 150 hrs to complete this. I've created over 2,000 micro artworks. I also do milk art, paper carving, drawing on sesame seeds etc."

Sesame Street’ will air a special later this month called “The Power of We” to urge children who encounter racism or hear someone else be the victim of it to call it out.
