Check out our Scripture column, "Speak to Me Lord," with reflections on the readings from Sunday Mass:
"In the Gospel, Jesus reminds us of the primacy of our relationship with God when he says, 'Whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.'" Read our Scripture column with reflections on today's Mass readings:
This morning I woke up discouraged with what is going on in our country. But one of my bible study brothers encouraged me with this scripture. “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” Gal 6:9
Carrying the Bible and posing it with was strange. Carrying it and not reading a scripture or offering a prayer made it all the stranger. And made it all the clearer that the Bible was not for reference. It was a prop.
When we face difficulties, one of the best things we can do is find a promise in the scripture and remind God what He said.
Scripture tells us: Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.
The scripture says, “What you do in secret, God will reward in the open.” Don’t worry if you’re not getting credit. Don’t get discouraged if people don’t thank you. God sees your sacrifice.
The scripture says, “Don’t despise the day of small beginnings.” You have to be faithful with the small before God will trust you with more. You have to be your best right where you are. Stay faithful; your time is coming.
