A Red Flag Warning remains in effect In the North Bay mountains and East Bay hills until 5 p.m. today as wind gusts of up to 76 mph and sustained winds of up to 40 mph continue in those areas.

JUST IN: The National Weather Service has extended a Red Flag Warning in effect for the North Bay mountains and East Bay hills through 5 p.m. Tuesday. A warning for the coastal regions, Santa Cruz mountains and lower valleys takes affect at 8 p.m. tonight.

Red flag warnings began Sunday morning for the North Bay and East Bay hills and all of the Bay Area will be under a red flag warning as of 8pm Sunday evening to 11am Monday.

The National Weather Service on Friday upgraded a declared Fire Weather Watch to a Red Flag Warning for the East Bay Hills and valleys, the North Bay Mountains and Santa Cruz Mountains starting Sunday morning.

The Santa Cruz mountains and San Mateo coast has been removed from the current Red Flag Warning but the Warning continues for the North Bay Mountains, East Bay Hills and Interior Valleys, as well as the Diablo Range.

Note: The Red Flag Warning that was issued for the North Bay Mountains at 11PM PDT Monday is still valid through 08AM PDT Wednesday. The North Bay Mountains will have a break during the day on Wednesday before they enter their second Red Flag Warning of the week.

#GOES16 satellite now detecting 4 wildfires in the North Bay. 3 fires are near the Sonoma/Napa County line while the forth fire (called the "Atlas Fire") burns to the NE of the City of Napa. Red Flag Warning remains in effect for strong and dry north winds. #cawx  #atlasfire
