After 65 years, the Philadelphia Police Department has finally identified “America’s Unknown Child,” commonly referred to as the “Boy in the Box", who was found naked, badly bruised and wrapped in a blanket in a box in 1957.

Seeking more on-campus housing, leaders at Neumann University, a small Catholic college outside of Philadelphia, created rooms for students in the school’s convent, which has accommodated nuns for more than a century.

His name was Joseph Augustus Zarelli. Nearly 66 years after the battered body of a young boy was found stuffed inside a cardboard box, Philadelphia police say they have finally unlocked a central mystery in the city's most notorious cold case.

Police have identified the boy from the 1957 "Boy in the Box" case nearly 66 years after his body was found in a blanket in a box in Philadelphia's Fox Chase neighborhood.

He is expected to play Sunday when the Giants (7-4-1) host the Philadelphia Eagles (11-1), but it may help explain his recent nosedive in production. @PLeonardNYDN
