Isabel Bueso told Congress that if the Trump administration takes away the medical deferred action program, she will die from a rare genetic disease. Isabel's doctor, Paul Harmatz, discusses Isabel's treatment and how she is fighting for her life.
The Trump administration has taken away medical deferments for immigrants with life threatening conditions. Dr. Paul Harmatz explains to Lawrence what he would tell President Trump about his patient, Marie Isabel Bueso.
Without weekly treatment, Bueso would die in six to 12 months, said Dr. Paul Harmatz, a UCSF pediatrician and Bueso's physician since she was a child. "It would be literally pulling the plug on a respirator,” he said.
