🗓 October 4 marks the 63rd anniversary of the #space  age. #OTD  in 1957 the R-7 carrier rocket set into orbit the first man-made orbiter. Radio channels carried the famous Beep! Beep! signals 314 seconds after the launch and were heard by the whole world.

It’s #FlashbackFriday  so we’re putting the spotlight on past robotic 🌘 Moon mission LADEE! Pictured is the spacecraft in one of our clean rooms in 2013. The orbiter helped uncover the origins of the Moon’s water and more. Details:

After the orbiter mission'>Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan) and Moon missions Chandrayaan-1 and 2, ISRO has set its eyes on Venus for carrying out its inter-planetary mission.

Who better than the cast of #StarTrek  to greet Enterprise, the first space shuttle orbiter, when it rolled out of the Palmdale facility on this day in 1976? It *was* named after the starship from the award-winning tv-show, after all.

Indian at heart, Indian in spirit! What would make every Indian overjoyed is the fact that #Chandrayaan2  is a fully indigenous mission. It will have an Orbiter for remote sensing the Moon and also a Lander-Rover module for analysis of lunar surface.
