#BREAKING : A powerful earthquake struck in the Pacific Ocean about 57 miles south of the Alaska Peninsula on Monday. The 7.5-magnitude earthquake prompted the National Tsunami Center to issue a tsunami warning for south Alaska and the Alaska Peninsula.

Tsunami warning sirens blared in Kodiak, Alaska, after a magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit off the southern coast of the Alaska Peninsula. The National Tsunami Warning Center later canceled the tsunami warning.
