Paperwork filed to get an event permit from the National Park Service lists more than half a dozen people who just weeks earlier had been paid thousands of dollars by Trump’s campaign

The Washington Monument will be closed through January 24 and other National Park Service facilities around D.C. will be temporarily closed due to "credible threats" from groups involved in the January 6 Capitol invasion.

The closure will remain in force at least through Thursday, the day after Biden’s inauguration, the National Park Service said in a statement.

The National Park Service has closed Washington’s National Mall to the general public as part of greatly intensified security ahead of Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration.

Who needs the dinosaurs, art and spaceships of the Smithsonian when you can take the kids to the clock tower at the Trump hotel? (Where National Park Service rangers are still working???) What’s going on?

National Park Service employee tells me they got an email around 10am ordering flags at half staff. Around 2:30pm, email went out cancelling it and saying flag should go back to regular order. And around 5:30, another one went out saying to lower again.

Instead of raising National Parks’ admissions, why doesn’t the Trump administration reverse its proposed National Park Service budget cuts?
