A statue of J.E.B. Stuart, the Confederate army officer, was removed on Tuesday from Monument Avenue in Richmond. It was the latest statue to be taken down since the mayor used emergency powers to order Confederate statues removed from city property.

Another Confederate statue on Richmond's iconic Monument Avenue was removed Tuesday, the third in a week and the final one owned by the city that was once the capital of the Confederacy.

The J.E.B. Stuart statue on Monument Avenue is the latest to be removed since the city began hauling away Confederate sculptures on July 1. 

It took crews about three hours to remove a 113-year-old statue of Confederate General J.E.B.Stuart from its pedestal along Monument Avenue in Richmond. #RVA
