3/ So while Long Island has avoided some of the year’s more dramatic climate change-driven weather events, like the wildfires ravaging the West Coast, the intense storms that have hit the Gulf Coast, and the severe drought in the midwest, it is not immune.

A large southward dip in the jet stream across the West and a pronounced bulge northward in the East is creating quite the contrast in weather conditions nationwide. Record-challenging warmth is expected across the Midwest and Northeast once again today:

While hospitalizations have been rising everywhere over the last month the Midwest is the only region thus far to hit a new high. Northeast peak was back in April. South and West peaks were in July.

If you're just waking up, here's what we know so far: – Trump has retained Florida. – No states have been “flipped” as projected victories have so far followed the 2016 pattern. – A Biden victory appears to depend on winning Mid-West states from Trump.

Pretty clear this race is coming down to the highly-predicted red mirage window in the mid-west, which could last at least 24 hours. Odds of Trump claiming victory before then are high. GOP petitions to stop the counts even higher.
