Today, I chaired a @TECof Dubai meeting at the Middle East’s biggest and top port for 24 consecutive years. Since opening in 1979, Jebel Ali Port has and still remains a vital link for global trade, with more than 180 shipping lines connecting Dubai to 150 ports worldwide.
The country once hailed as the “Switzerland of the Middle East” now faces the prospects of bankruptcy and chaos as never before.
There are few issues more important to the security of the US than the potential spread of nuclear weapons or the potential for even more destructive war in the Middle East. Today’s decision to put the JCPOA at risk is a serious mistake. My full statement:
