Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez says he disagrees with Dr. Anthony Fauci's assessment that some states are seeing a surge in coronavirus cases because they prematurely reopened. "What happened here is not the opening, it's the compliance with the rules," Gimenez says.

TRUMP TOUCHES DOWN: The president wasn't wearing a mask when greeted by Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez, who had said last week that Trump should wear a face covering if he visits the county, where they are mandatory.

"Our positivity rate is now over 25%," says Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez. "The good news is we can add more critical care beds and more ICU beds, but it's becoming more and more of a problem."

Miami-Dade County officials reported a 28% #COVID19  positivity rate on Friday, according to data released by the mayor's office. Gimenez's office has said the goal is to not exceed a positivity rate of 10%. The current 14-day average is 25%, the data shows.

For the foreseeable future, dining out in Miami Dade will mean dining outside in the heat. The county mayor’s order became official yesterday, stunning both restaurant owners and workers, as many have complied with guidelines in order to stay fully open.
