About 25,000 National Guard troops are guarding the Capitol, White House and National Mall:

I am in Chinatown now. I have walked almost the full length of the Mall from the White House to the Capitol. There has been no sign of any of the pro-Trump protests planned for today. It would seem the huge law enforcement reaction scared them off.

Metro train stations near the Capitol, Pennsylvania Ave, the National Mall and the White House have been shut down already.

While we’re at it, the “entire city” isn’t on lockdown. Large areas around the Mall, White House and Capitol are.
