If Joe Biden’s nominees are confirmed by the Senate, his Cabinet will include three Black members – Kamala Harris as vice president, Lloyd Austin as the first Black secretary of defense and Marcia Fudge as secretary of housing and urban development.
Lloyd J. Austin, an Auburn alumnus who was born in Mobile, Alabama, was sworn in today by VP Kamala Harris. Austin, a retired four-star Army general, is the nation's first Black secretary of defense. He won Senate confirmation last week: 📸 @SenKamalaHarris
