A U.S. Capitol Police officer has been indicted on obstruction of justice charges after prosecutors say he helped to hide evidence of a rioter’s involvement in the January 6 insurrection.

A Capitol Police officer was arrested Friday on charges that he obstructed justice by encouraging a man in the Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot to delete social media posts showing he was there, according to the indictment.

NEW: Asked about those defying Jan. 6 subpoenas, @PresElectBiden  says “I hope that the committee goes after them and holds them accountable.” When asked, he said he supports Justice Department prosecuting people who defy the subpoenas.

Kansas City, Missouri, Mayor Quinton Lucas has filed a complaint against the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department officer who conducted an unauthorized search of him in a criminal justice database.

The 32-year-old man faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, obstruction of justice and criminal mischief.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg fought to the end, through her cancer, with unwavering faith in our democracy and its ideals. That’s how we remember her. But she also left instructions for how she wanted her legacy to be honored. My statement:
