Terrific piece here by @DawsonEJ  on the problems with the JobMaker subsidy scheme announced in the budget.

JobMaker is a recipe for temporary, casual, low wage exploitative work. Big corporations like McDonalds will be rubbing their hands together. Instead, we need a job guarantee for young people, with decent wages and secure work. #Budget2020

New jobs created through JobMaker: 45,000 Jobs lost through slashing JobKeeper: 115,000 So much for a "jobs recovery" budget.

Libs latest $4b slush fund for big corporations cld drive insecure work, hurt young people & give public $ to big corporations that don’t need it. But instead of scrutiny, Labor - yes, Labor - just successfully moved for JobMaker bill to be rammed & gagged thru House today ?

Good morning to everyone except the person who gave us JobSeeker, JobKeeper, JobMaker and now JobTrainer.

Under the Liberals: billions cut from TAFE and training, skills shortages, and 140,000 apprentices and trainees gone. I really wanted the Prime Minister to have a plan to fix this in his speech today, but he didn’t. That’s not JobMaker, it’s JobFaker. #NPC

"Our JobMaker program is backing a tradie-led recovery" says #ScottyFromMarketing  $688m - like the first stab at a stimulus package, nowhere near what is required and not well targeted. NFI.

One of many issues with the glib JobMaker 'plan' is that it fails to acknowledge that many of the 3.25 million people unemployed, underemployed or who have given looking for work have great skills & are ready to work. The problem is the weak economy & inadequate fiscal stimulus

'JobMaker'? JobFaker. Cutting rights is not a plan to create jobs or tackle job insecurity. Nor is skilling people up for jobs that aren’t there. We must invest to recover, with nation-building, planet-saving projects & a Jobs Guarantee. #GreenNewDeal

I need to know who came up with JobSeeker, JobKeeper and JobMaker ... and what's next.
