Dozens of women at the Irwin County Detention Center have said that a doctor examined them so roughly they were bruised or bleeding. Some even allege unnecessary surgeries without consent were performed: hysterectomies, the removal of ovaries, etc.

Today, the House expressed its concern and its disgust at allegations that medical personnel performed serious and invasive surgical and medical procedures on women detained at DHS Irwin County Detention Center without their proper consent.
