Our federal IGs do a valuable job providing the information needed to hold federal agencies accountable. Unfortunately, the DOJ OIG currently does not have the power to review the conduct of DOJ attorneys, an oversight which this legislation corrects.
ONE ODD THING about AG Barr's letter: it purports to "authorize" the inspector general to review any claims of "improper interference." But IGs don't need "authorization" to conduct these kind of reviews. They're independent.

News reports that the President may have fired the State Dept IG in response to him nearing completion of an investigation into the approval of billions of dollars in arms sales to Saudi Arabia are deeply concerning. The President must provide justification for the IG’s removal.
Feels like the House Oversight Committee should call all the fired IG’s to testify.
Grassley on FISA: Not a single application from the past 5 yrs reviewed by the IG was up to snuff. That’s alarming..The IG’s decision to bring these failures to the director’s attention before its audit is even completed underscores the seriousness of these findings
If FISA Inspector General Horowitz report doesn’t come out next week when they said it would then I will be very disappointed & left to wonder WHAT THE GAME IS?? Is someone at FBI or DOJ tying IGs hands??
