The couple in the viral police video, Davron Ames and Iesha Harper, want to see the Phoenix officers terminated.

"Sometimes a Black [police] chief can be the best window dressing and prevention of bringing in needed reforms, " says @ReverendMaupin  , advocate for Dravon Ames and Iesha Harper, who were held at gunpoint by Phoenix cops. "The proof is in the dead bodies and the broken bodies. "

Joined by Dravon Ames and Iesha Harper and a group of their family members, Rev. Jarrett Maupin submitted a citizen petition to have two police officers fired during Wednesday's Phoenix City Council meeting.

On the day of the incident, police after looking at security footage said over radio they couldn't verify Dravon Ames and Iesha Harper shoplifted.

Phoenix Police Chief Jeri Williams promised change after being booed by hundreds over a video that shows officers aiming guns and yelling profane commands at Dravon Ames and his pregnant fiancée, Iesha Harper, as she held their 1-year-old daughter.
