Entertaining story by @chris_muther  on the once-legendary (and now closed) Hotel Buckminster, where the Black Sox Scandal of 1919 may have been hatched:

In September of 1919, gambler Joseph "Sport" Sullivan and White Sox first baseman Chick Gandil met in Room 615 at Hotel Buckminster. They talked about an idea to pay a group of White Sox players to throw the 1919 World Series.
