Gwen Carr, mother of Eric Garner, Samaria Rice, mother of Tamir Rice, and John Crawford, Jr., father of John Crawford III, have released a joint statement endorsing the Democrats’ George Floyd Justice In Policing Act.

The words uttered by George Floyd — “I can’t breathe” — echo those of Eric Garner. “It was so heart-wrenching. It brought back so many memories of what happened to me the day that my son was murdered,” Garner’s mother Gwen Carr says.
William Barr did this to Eric Garner’s family. “The D.O.J. has failed us,” said Gwen Carr after her son’s killer went free, without charges. “Five years ago, my son said ‘I can’t breathe’ 11 times. Today we can’t breathe. Because they have let us down.”
