This is what #ClimateEmergency  looks like. We need a price on carbon, no more fossil fuels & real emissions targets now.

“It’s as simple as this: divestment works.” @NYCMayor  is one of 12 mayors committing to divest from fossil fuels and invest in a green and just COVID-19 recovery.

A new report from the Biogenic CO2 Coalition explores the economic benefits that could result from the Environmental Protection Agency acting to offer differing treatment for biogenic carbon emissions than that of fossil fuels.

New research shows the reasons once given for slowing down a transition away from fossil fuels—technological barriers, cost and jobs losses—are no longer valid, writes John Palfrey, president of the MacArthur Foundation.

2/ Well, first of all, what is a carbon tax and where did the idea come from? Fossil fuels have really bad impacts on the environment, and human health. In economist-speak, they create a "negative externality."

West is on fire. Air can't be breathed. Sky is pink. A half million fleeing Oregon. An environmental reckoning has come. Whatever we call it -- Green New Deal, Climate Revolution, End of Fossil Fuels -- we must radically alter the way we live, or our lands will be uninhabitable.

There is no “middle ground” when it comes to climate policy. If we don't commit to fully transforming our energy system away from fossil fuels, we will doom future generations. Fighting climate change must be our priority, whether fossil fuel billionaires like it or not.

U.S. oil prices have crashed below $0 a barrel. This is not a problem. We should not try to prop up oil prices. We should not bail out oil companies. We should accelerate our shift to solar, wind, and other non-fossil fuels.

Rejoining the Paris Agreement isn't enough. Scientists say we must act immediately to end our dependence on fossil fuels and avoid climate catastrophe. Our Green New Deal, which will create 20 million jobs, is the only plan in this race bold enough to address this crisis.

With or without the support of Trump and the fossil fuel industry we must transition rapidly away from fossil fuels to renewable energy.

DEMS: Our planet is dying. Ban beef. Ban coal. Ban fossil fuels. Ban CO2 emissions. Ban carbon. ALSO DEMS: Let’s cook 15,034,971 pounds of cow over burning coals pumping unnecessary CO2 into the atmosphere *giggles* What hypocrites.

Climate change activists stormed the field at the Yale-Harvard football game on Saturday afternoon, disrupting the game at halftime to call for the universities to divest their investments in fossil fuels

We can't afford to build new pipelines that lock us into burning more fossil fuels. I will do everything I can to stop Keystone XL and DAPL.

We need a president who understands that climate change is real, is an existential threat to our country and the entire planet, and that we can generate massive job creation by transforming our energy system away from fossil fuels to energy efficiency and sustainable energy.
