University of Queensland lawyers move to block a subpoena on China’s consul-general filed by student Drew Pavlou.

Without meaning to, Brisbane student Drew Pavlou sparked an international incident, becoming an enemy of China and winding up expelled from uni.

Suspended student and activist Drew Pavlou says he is suing the University of Queensland and its chancellor and vice-chancellor for $3.5 million for defamation and breach of contract. "It's not about money, it's about sending a message," Pavlou wrote on Twitter.

This is a pretty extraordinary statement from UQ Chancellor Peter Varghese over the suspension of pro Hong Kong activist and anti CCP protestor Drew Pavlou. Immensely strengthens his argument the disciplinary process was a kangaroo court.
