Dr. Martin Tobin, a prosecution medical expert in Derek Chauvin's trial, referenced tests done on George Floyd’s blood to refute a defense expert’s claim that carbon monoxide poisoning could have played a role in Floyd’s death, calling it “simply wrong."

Irish expert pulmonologist Dr. Martin Tobin today labeled defense witness Dr. David Fowler's inference that George Floyd died in part from carbon monoxide poisoning as "simply wrong."

Court will break until 10:15 a.m. when defense is expected to rest its case in front of the jury. State says their one rebuttal witness will be Dr. Martin Tobin, a lung and breathing expert based out of Chicago, who was on the stand last week.

Chauvin's attorney Eric Nelson officially tells the jury that the defense has rested. Prosecutors have called Dr. Martin Tobin (the Irish pulmonologist) to the stand as a rebuttal witness. (He was a very strong witness for the state)
