Whoa. Following our story, the House Committee On Oversight and Reform is seeking "All documents and communications referring to relating to a proposal to provide President Donald Trump with an ownership stake in Parler" from the company.

Donald Trump was looking to join Parler. Before he joined, however, the Trump Organization wanted a stake in the company. In negotiations after the election, representatives for Parler discussed giving the Trump Org a 40% stake. From @RosieGray  and me:

Although permanently banned from Twitter and suspended from Facebook, Donald Trump has some smaller social media outlets available. He could sign up to the far-right friendly Parler. And he's even suggested starting his own platform.

Parler was co-founded by Rebekah Mercer—from the Mercer family that bankrolled Breitbart, Cambridge Analytica, and Donald Trump. And had close ties to Steve Bannon etc.
