The military, by law, takes a vow to the Constitution, not to the president, and that vow means that the commander in chief of the military is whoever is sworn in at 12:01 p.m. on Inauguration Day.

More than 200 retired generals and admirals endorse Joe Biden for president, saying he has the character and judgment to serve as commander-in-chief while President Trump has failed "to meet challenges large or small," NBC News reports.

@JoeBiden  can unify the American people because he's spent his life fighting for us. And as president, he'll build an America that lives up to our ideals. I'm honored to join him as our party's nominee for Vice President, and do what it takes to make him our Commander-in-Chief.

Trump as Commander in Chief lost the Covid war. Now more Americans are dying daily from Covid than in Europe, China and Canada COMBINED.

The President threatened to take over cities and towns with military force. Peaceful protesters were tear-gassed so he could get a photo-op. We will fight for justice for Black lives in America, even if our racist Commander in Chief tries to stand in the way.

RT if you support President Trump firing *every* employee in the federal government, military & intel community who is openly working to undermine their Commander-in-ChiefHunt them down & clear them out 3 years of “resistance” to @realDonaldTrump  from *his employees* is ENOUGH

If anyone tries to tell you that President @realDonaldTrump  was not welcome at the #ArmyNavyGame  - show them this: The Commander-in-Chief arriving at his seat during the break. Spontaneous, stadium-wide applause & roars from a crowd for POTUS ?? Ya won’t see this angle on TV!

Last night’s attacks on peaceful protesters near the White House demanding justice for George Floyd were appalling. Trump acted more like a wannabe authoritarian than Commander in Chief. Here’s some of the things I’ve been working on today to hold this administration accountable:

Donald Trump is not a Commander-in-Chief. He makes impulsive decisions with no knowledge or deliberation. He sends military personnel into harm’s way with no backing. He blusters and then leaves our allies exposed when adversaries call his bluff or he confronts a hard phone call.

To all the trans folks currently serving in the military thank you for your service. I am sorry your "commander in chief" doesn't value it.

The irony of the media attacking actual troops for supporting , their Commander in Chief, but having no problem with 95% of their colleagues donating to Hillary while pretending to be unbiased is why no one trusts the media.

Military rules and regulations allow trans people to serve their country. Even the commander-in-chief cannot change those via Twitter.
