CONFIRMED: We're pleased to share the news that @S ChecoPerez has tested negative for COVID-19 💪 The @fia have confirmed that Checo can return to the @F1 paddock and he will compete for the team in this weekend’s #SpanishGP 🙌
While obviously a shame for Checo and his fans and as we continue to wish him nothing but a return to full health, proof again that the rigorous system put in place by F1 and the FIA is working. Regardless of his quarantine, his return was always reliant on negative PCR results.
Hulk still in place on paddock portacabins. As I said in the week I can see him being around for a while. Regardless of isolation, Checo has to post negative PCR test results and with viral persistence seemingly unique per patient, there’s no telling when that might be.
Been trying to make sense of how long Checo will be sidelined by this horrible illness. Regardless of whether he is required to isolate for 7 or 10 days, the minimum requirement for his readmittance to the paddock, quite apart from his well being is, I believe, 2 negative tests.
