Leaders of the Caribbean community in Brooklyn say local organizations will be providing help for the people of St. Vincent after a volcano started erupting Friday.

“While 14.7% of all British fam­i­lies are sin­gle-par­ent units, the share is 63% in the black Car­ibbean com­munity. Britons of In­dian ori­gin have the low­est sin­gle-par­ent in­ci­dence—only 6%.”
