President Michael D Higgins paid tribute to Cormac Ó Braonáin, saying his "energy, idealism, generosity, creativity and commitment to social justice and his vision of a kinder, more just society were exemplary".

Irish president Michael D Higgins leads tributes to Cormac Ó Braonáin, chairperson of Labour Youth in the Republic of Ireland, who died after being hit by a tram in Dublin.

President Michael D Higgins said 19-year-old Cormac Ó Braonáin will be “dearly missed by all who knew him.”
