Here’s what our reporter @adamnagourney  is watching for: former Republican presidents and candidates validating President-elect Joe Biden’s victory. In particular, George W. Bush and Bob Dole, he writes. Follow along live:

Do you know why white supremacists only lurked on the outskirts of Republican politics for the last 30 years or so? Because guys like Bob Dole said stuff like this when they were leaders:

Winners of Georgia by Presidential Election year. 1992: Bill Clinton (Democrat) 1996: Bob Dole (Republican) 2000: George W Bush (Republican) 2004: George W Bush (Republican) 2008: John McCain (Republican) 2012: Mitt Romney (Republican) 2016: Donald Trump (Republican)

“The President was my opponent and not my enemy.” Bob Dole, about Bill Clinton, concession speech 1996

The money Democrats spent on longshot Senate candidates in Texas, South Carolina, and Kentucky dwarfs the total amount spent in the 1996 presidential race—Bill Clinton, Bob Dole, and Ross Perot combined. Via @brokehomiecol

Look, Lil Wayne has always been a Republican. He was dear friends with Nancy Reagan and did a lot of work for Bob and Elizabeth Dole.

In an emotional scene, former US Sen. Bob Dole was helped out of his wheelchair and saluted the casket of former President George H.W. Bush inside the US Capitol Rotunda

Paul Manafort worked for Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and many other highly prominent and respected political leaders. He worked for me for a very short time. Why didn’t government tell me that he was under investigation. These old charges have nothing to do with Collusion - a Hoax!

Wow, what a tough sentence for Paul Manafort, who has represented Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and many other top political people and campaigns. Didn’t know Manafort was the head of the Mob. What about Comey and Crooked Hillary and all of the others? Very unfair!

....Paul Manafort came into the campaign very late and was with us for a short period of time (he represented Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole & many others over the years), but we should have been told that Comey and the boys were doing a number on him, and he wouldn’t have been hired!

Today, we witnessed an incredible moment in history – the presentation of Congress’ highest civilian honor to our friend, and true AMERICAN HERO, Bob Dole. #CongressionalGoldMedal

By all rights, 21-year-old Bob Dole should have been dead after being shot by Germans in WW2, and 20-year-old George Bush after being shot out of the sky by the Japanese. Today, the 95-year-old Senator Dole salutes and says goodbye to the 94-year-old President Bush.
