A quarter of Black Americans said their current financial situation was worse now than it was a year ago, before the pandemic, compared to 17% of their White peers, according to a Pew Research Center survey conducted earlier this year.

TODAY: The City of Chattanooga hosted a Juneteenth event paying homage to the Black Wall Street that existed in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the early 1920s.

I am proud and grateful to join in celebrating #Juneteenth  with my friend LaNesha DeBardelaben, the Northwest African American Museum, Rec'N The Streets, and many others on a day that symbolizes the beginning of freedom for so many Black Americans.

Juneteenth has grown in recognition in the wake of the police killing of George Floyd and Black Lives Matter protests, but Black Minnesotans say more change is needed for Black Americans to enjoy the same opportunities as their white neighbors.

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers brought the news of freedom to enslaved Black people in Galveston, Texas, two months after the Confederacy had surrendered.

We got white people pissed off about wearing masks, egg mcmuffins and maple syrup. Meanwhile, in the past two weeks, six black men were found hanged in a tree, in a public space, yet the “authorities” claim all six as suicides...

Chadwick was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago, per reports. During that time, he gave us Civil War, Marshall, Black Panther, Infinity War, Endgame, 21 Bridges and Da 5 Bloods. Lord only knows what he was going through on a daily basis.

Chadwick came to the White House to work with kids when he was playing Jackie Robinson. You could tell right away that he was blessed. To be young, gifted, and Black; to use that power to give them heroes to look up to; to do it all while in pain – what a use of his years.

"I can't breathe," a black man tells an Oklahoma City cop, "I don't care," the cop responds. Derrick Scott then died. He was 42.

If you’re unbothered or mildly bothered by the 1st knee, but outraged by the 2nd, then, in my father’s words, you’re “more devoted to order than to justice.” And more passionate about an anthem that supposedly symbolizes freedom than you are about a Black man’s freedom to live.

Real problem: realtors don't show black people all the properties they qualify for. Fake problem: calling the master bedroom the master bedroom. Fix the real problem, realtors.
