A magnificent statement from Betsy Reed, editor-in-chief of @theintercept , on the resignation of @ggreenwald

@robpenner  @Delilah399T  @MensahITSMEh  @soledadobriene  @betsyreed2se  people are pathological liars. Betsy Reed has been the Editor of the Intercept since 2015. I play no role in its editorial management & had no role in the Reality Winner story. Anyone who cares about RW- as opposed to exploiting her as a toy for Twitter insults- knows that.

2010 was the GOP's Year of the Woman. As Betsy Reed wrote, "The irony is that, in this so-called year of the woman, this result will be, more than anything else, an expression of the preferences and passions of angry white men."

@psael  First, @TheInterceptBrthe  system is exactly the same. All the work is being done under the editorial supervision of our editor-in-chief in NYC, Betsy Reed, and in Brazil with Leandro Demori. Second, the docs are "authenticated " the same way. 3rd: we will work with other media outlets as we did.

I don't know why people insist on erasing Betsy Reed - the actual Editor-in-Chief of the Intercept - but they do. I don't edit or "run" TI.
