The infamous decades of Northern Ireland mayhem known as "The Troubles" presumably ended with the 1998 Belfast Agreement. Now there is fear of a revival.

Recent days have seen disgraceful & senseless violence in Northern Ireland. Nearly 90 police officers have been injured. Politicians across the @HouseofCommons  came together this afternoon to condemn the violence & underline the importance of the Belfast Good Friday agreement.

This week marks 20 years since the Good Friday Agreement referendum. Yesterday, I spoke at Queen’s University, Belfast, about the need to revive the spirit of the Agreement and prevent the return to a hard border, to protect peace and ensure prosperity for the many not the few.

PM not using “Good Friday Agreement” terminology again... even on 20th anniversary. twice in Commons since December she has replied to questions about GFA with reference to the “Belfast Agreement”... some unionists insist on this. But she was referring to “GFA” in October...
