@RepJerryNadler  did an excellent job running a fair, substantive and important hearing. Our report found Trump withheld military aid and a WH meeting to get help with his re-election. Today’s experts made it clear this is precisely why the Founders provided for impeachment.

Trump's Acting Chief of Staff publicly stated that they withheld aid to obtain political favors, and said we should "get over it." The president's defenders ask the American public to get used to the idea of a corrupt president, and get over it. The question is: Should we?

Republicans farcically claim there’s no direct evidence that Trumpwithheld aid to get political investigations. The problem? His own chief of staff admitted it, on live TV. It’s clear: Trump wanted to use military aid as leverage to get Ukraine to do his political dirty work.

The impeachment inquiry began less than a month ago. We've already learned: ➡️ Trump pressed Ukraine to investigate a political rival. ➡️ He used the State Dept for personal, political gain. ➡️ He withheld military aid to Ukraine while seeking their help politically.

Trump's Chief of Staff admitted military aid was withheld from an ally to get their help with an investigation, which could help Trump politically. When challenged with this quid pro quo, Mulvaney said it happens all the time. "Get over it," he said. Never.

My Republican colleagues argue that aid is held up all the time, for all sorts of reasons. I asked Volker and Morrison if they had ever seen military aid withheld because a president wanted investigations into a political rival. Volker: "No, I have not seen that" Morrison: "No"

Neither he (Taylor) or any other witness has provided testimony that the Ukrainians were aware that military aid was being withheld. You can’t have a quid pro quo with no quo.” Congressman John Ratcliffe@foxandfriends  Where is the Whistleblower? The Do Nothing Dems case is DEAD!

THE FACTS: 1) The transcript is public—it shows NO conditionality or quid pro quo 2) Presidents Trump and Zelensky have both confirmed—NO pressure 3) Ukraine didn't know that aid was being withheld at the time of the call 4) The aid was released without any action from Ukraine

So far, there’s no evidence of a cover-up (both the transcript and the whistleblower complaint are public), no evidence of quid pro quo (multiple reports state that the Ukrainians didn’t even know military aid was being withheld). So what exactly is the theory of impeachment?
