Hundreds of soldiers from the 1st Welsh Guards'>Battalion Welsh Guards today marked their return from an eight-month tour in Afghanistan with a homecoming parade through Cardiff city centre

The were formed in 1915 by order of King George V and have taken part in almost every British Army campaign since WWI. HRH has been Colonel of the Welsh Guards since 1975 and wears the regiment's ceremonial uniform at the Trooping the Colour ceremony each year.
