Rare footage of the last known Tasmanian tiger, Benjamin, has been released. He died in captivity in 1936. There were about 5,000 of the animals left in Tasmania when Europeans first colonized, but they were treated as pests and wiped out by hunters and disease. (📷: NFSA)
