Top Senate Dems & @SenSchumer  have sent a letter to Pres Trump demanding he develop and brief Congress on a plan to stop ISIS from returning in Syria. They want answers to their Qs by Dec 6:

🚨 BREAKING 🚨 Just introduced an expedited resolution of request for the Secretary of State to inform the Senate in 30 days of the extent of Turkey’s human rights abuses in Syria.

“A bipartisan bill is now before the Senate imposing sanctions on Turkey over its assault on Syria. The House approved a similar measure last month,” reports @Nawazistan

As admin officials insist Trump did everything he could to deter Erdogan from Syria, this @jonathanvswan ⁩ from an SAO on the senate meeting yesterday: “It shows Erdoğan that they're serious about sanctions, and Trump doesn't have to be the bad guy.”

Erdogan complains about two resolutions passed by the House: one calling for sanctions on Turkey for its actions in Syria and another recognising the Armenian genocide. He says he hopes the Senate will not advance either measure.

There must be a full accounting by Turkey of these atrocities. That is why I’m today introducing an expedited resolution of request for the Secretary of State to inform the Senate in 30 days of the extent of Turkey’s human rights abuses in Syria.

Sen. McConnell: Pres. Trump has no coherent strategy for the enduring defeat of ISIS Put the bipartisan resolution to rebuke his Syria decision on the Senate floor It's the simplest, most powerful way pressure him to take the threats seriously & keep America safe

Senator McConnell: Put the bipartisan resolution to rebuke Pres. Trump’s actions in Syria on the Senate floor. An identical resolution passed the House 354-60. It’s the best way pressure Trump to seriously address the threats his actions in Syria unleashed & keep America safe.

Senate Foreign Relations Cmte. Chairman Corker on Syria troop withdrawal: "I’ve never seen a decision like this since I’ve been here in 12 years where nothing is communicated in advance, and all of a sudden this type of massive decision takes place."

The House passed a resolution to rebuke President Trump’s actions in Syria 354-60. So why did @RandPaul  block an identical resolution in the Senate? The lives of the Syrian Kurds and our national security are at stake!

The House voted 354-60 to demand President Trump reverse course in Syria. Senator McConnell: Put the bill on the Senate floor. There's no better way to pressure the President to undo his damaging, dangerous actions. The lives of Kurds—and our national security—are at stake.

I just took to the floor to demand again that the Senate, Republicans & Democrats, pass the bipartisan resolution opposing President Trump’s actions in Syria Because when Republican Senators protest what the president has done, he sometimes acts But Senator @RandPaul  objected

The best way to pressure Pres. Trump to seriously address the threats his actions in Syria unleashed & keep our country safe is for Sen. McConnell to put the bipartisan resolution—that passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support—on the Senate floor for a vote next week.

I just took to the floor to demand that the Senate pass the resolution opposing President Trump’s decision in Syria. An identical resolution passed the House 354-60. Our national security and the lives of the Kurds are at stake. But Senator@RandPaul  objected.

Instead of passing resolutions calling for US troops to stay even longer in Syria & Afghanistan, my colleagues in the Senate should applaud ending these wars and learn how to declare VICTORY. The warmonger caucus is up in arms that is delivering on a promise!

Go to the White House briefing. Turn every camera on. Ask about Syria. Ask about the Senate bill. And if they leave, you’ll have footage.
