The Floyd's record company were confused when Storm Thorgerson presented the cover image for Atom Heart Mother, out today in 1970. Despite their initial reluctance over the cover, the record company came to embrace the bovine theme in this promotional poster!

British graphic design studio Hipgnosis were the visual pioneers of the progressive rock scene in the 1970s. Founded in 1967 by Aubrey Powell and Storm Thorgerson, Hipgnosis designed covers for Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and others.
