Dr. Sun Yat-sen came to New York City over 100 years ago where he learned about our democratic and inclusive society and shared his dreams with us. His statue will now permanently stand in Columbus Park to honor his revolutionary memory.
A statue in New York City is more than a monument — it's a message to the world. And a statue of Sun Yat-sen will remind the world of the values of democracy and just how important our Chinese community is to New York City. Dr. Sun is finally where he belongs.
