The solar system has a new winner in the moon department. Twenty new moons have been found around Saturn, giving the ringed planet a total of 82, scientists said Monday. That beats Jupiter and its 79 moons.

Saturn is now being recognized as the 'moon king' of our solar system, with astronomers spotting 20 more of them orbiting the giant ringed planet, bringing its total count to 82 - three more than Jupiter.

Managed by @NASAAmes , Pioneer 11 was the first spacecraft to explore Saturn. On Sep. 1, 1979, Pioneer 11 passed within 13,000 miles of the ringed planet. It returned 440 images and data about the planet and its rings and satellites.
