Priti Patel's new pledge that immigration overall will fall if the Conservatives are elected is not only bad politics - it's bad policy. @Harveyred1  unpacks the problems with the latest promises made on immigration in the #GeneralElection2019

Sounds to me Tories not at all confident they will be able to reduce immigration. Now Priti Patel line is they will "control" immigration.

So the sixth time Priti Patel is asked she eventually says .."we can look to reduce the numbers." Curious that it take six questions to confirm her own policy announcement......

“Under Corbyn's Labour, immigration would surge, and put huge strain on schools and our NHS," said Priti Patel

Priti Patel backtracking from her pledge this morning to "reduce overall immigration." Asked four times she refuses to repeat pledge.

And there is more. The Priti Patel tweet warns of huge strain on schools. The evidence is very clear that the presence of children who don't speak English as their mother tongue raises the performance of other children. Following tweets are a summary of evidence, again from MAC

Home Priti Patel'>Secretary Priti Patel has written to her Labour counterpart to express her concern over the party's immigration plans, suggesting national security would be jeopardised by an “unconditional” right to family reunion.

So let me get this straight. When we have a DIRE shortage of nurses, our EU nurses are returning home in droves, Priti Patel wants to raise the threshold for migrants wanting to work here to £36,700? Who do Brexiters think is going to look after our sick? Dogs with sad eyes?

If Civil Servants had done anything close to what Gavin Williamson and Priti Patel got sacked for they would never work for the government again. A prime example of one rule for them and another for the rest. Stinks to high heaven.

Your occasional reminder that Priti Patel was fired from the cabinet for running her own backchannel diplomatic operation – via a lobbyist – behind the PM’s back. Her cabinet return after that kind of misconduct would in normal times be staggering.
