These 14 women were murdered 30 years ago at École Polytechnique de Montréal. Their deaths robbed us of their limitless potential and bright futures. It is more than time for change. We can and we must put an end to gender-based violence.

In what has become an annual tradition, 14 beams of light — one for each of the women killed at École Polytechnique 30 years ago — will illuminate the top of Mount Royal tonight. @benshingler 

Remember their names, and honour their memory. On December 6, we pay tribute to the women killed in the Polytechnique massacre, and to all victims of gender-based violence.

A needless and cruel provocation. No matter the debate, no matter the argument, the families of Polytechnique victims should come first. May we always honour their memory.
