Top scientists say for Australia to honour the Paris Agreement and limit global warming to less than two degrees Celsius the country must reach net zero emission before 2050

The leader of the Paris Climate Agreement talks says she is "deeply pained" by the attitude of the Australian Government to climate change in the wake of this summer's unprecedented bushfires. Hear@CFigueres  full interview with @AvaniDias  today on Hack

To reach targets laid out in the Paris climate agreement, the U.S. needs to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Most credible studies agree on how to get there, but natural gas utilities do not like this movement at all. (via @vox )

Australia's total greenhouse gas emissions have declined only marginally according to the official data used to track progress towards the Paris Agreement target.

“The character of the Australian dollar could change if the government makes climate policy and reaching the Paris Agreement more of a priority,” says ABN Amro FX strategist...

People from all over the world are expected to participate in the 2020 Africa Climate Week, which is to be held in Kampala, Uganda, to discuss ways to implement the Paris Agreement.

I am glad that my friend and the protestors in Paris have agreed with the conclusion I reached two years ago. The Paris Agreement is fatally flawed because it raises the price of energy for responsible countries while whitewashing some of the worst polluters....

7. The badly flawed Paris Climate Agreement protects the polluters, hurts Americans, and cost a fortune. NOT ON MY WATCH! 8. I want crystal clean water and the cleanest and the purest air on the planet – we’ve now got that!

We have a president who believes in science fiction. I believe in science fact. Climate change is real and we're in the midst of a climate crisis. We need a #GreenNewDeal  and as president, on day one, America will rejoin the Paris Agreement. #DemDemate

@realDonaldTrump ’s decision to formally pull the US out of the Paris Climate Agreement is another disastrous decision that sells out our children’s future. Democrats will continue to call for #ClimateActionNow  to protect the people & places we love.

Very sad day & night in Paris. Maybe it’s time to end the ridiculous and extremely expensive Paris Agreement and return money back to the people in the form of lower taxes? The U.S. was way ahead of the curve on that and the only major country where emissions went down last year!

The Paris Agreement isn’t working out so well for Paris. Protests and riots all over France. People do not want to pay large sums of money, much to third world countries (that are questionably run), in order to maybe protect the environment. Chanting “We Want Trump!” Love France.

We are deeply disappointed that the United States federal government has decided to withdraw from the Paris Agreement.

Trump's decision to withdraw the US from the Paris climate agreement is an abdication of American leadership and an international disgrace.

Withdrawing from the Paris climate agreement would be a horrific mistake. This extraordinary crisis calls out for international cooperation.
