GM CEO Mary Barra took home more than $21M last year -- that's 281x the median GM worker's compensation. Meanwhile, the company has laid off more than 4,000 employees, despite receiving hundreds of millions in federal contracts and subsidies.

American capitalism at work: --GM workers made $118M in concession to management. --GM then reaped $157M from Trump's corporate tax cut. --GM CEO Mary Barra took home $22M in compensation. --GM closes Lordstown plant, massive layoffs.

Under Trump, GM has received more than $600m in federal contracts, plus $500m in tax breaks. Chairman and CEO Mary Barra raked in almost $22m in total compensation in 2017 alone. Once again, it's socialism for the rich, harsh capitalism for American workers.

GM workers have been part of the heart and soul of Oshawa for generations - and we’ll do everything we can to help the families affected by this news get back on their feet. Yesterday, I spoke with ’s Mary Barra to express my deep disappointment in the closure.
