NASA releases an image taken by its Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter that shows the site of the Vikram lander's impact and associated debris field, with parts scattered over almost two dozen locations spanning several kilometers.

NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) says that their NASA Moon mission, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, has found the #Chandrayaan2  Vikram Lander.

#NewsAlert – A NASA satellite orbiting the moon has found Vikram Lander which crashed on the lunar surface in September, the US space agency said on Monday. NASA released an image taken by its Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) that showed the site of the spacecraft’s impact.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA): Our Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter mission imaged the targeted landing site of India’s #Chandrayaan2  lander, Vikram. The images were taken at dusk & the team was not able to locate the lander.

@NASA  releases the pictures of landing area of #Chandrayaan2  lander Vikram. It was dusk when the landing area was imaged by NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter LRO and thus large shadows covered much of the terrain; says that #VikramLander  might be hiding in a shadow.

@GrosMtl  @isroNASA 's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter got an image of the Beresheet crash site on the Moon. If Vikram truly crashed (as it seems), then LRO should be able to get an image of that as well, though it might take a few weeks.
