Jouett rode some 40 miles from Louisa County, Virginia to Charlottesville where Governor Thomas Jefferson and other politicians were meeting to warn them of British troops that were closing in.

It was a verbal argument with a family member that she was isolated with in her Louisa County home that turned violent, she says.

About 1.5% of Louisa County's total population has tested positive for COVID-19. It's a higher rate compared to other counties with the most cases, with Linn County's positive tests only accounting for about 0.12% of its total population.
