I’m disgusted by reports that online lender @Upstart  may be violating fair lending laws by charging higher rates to grads of HBCUs & HSIs than students from other colleges. @SenSherrodBrown , @SenatorMenendez , @SenBookerOf @SenKamalaHarrisfice, & I want answers.

Beyond handshakes and ripped speeches, don’t miss that Trump overtly appealed for the Black vote last night. He talked about Tuskegee, civil rights, MLK, school choice, and HBCUs. Trump in 2016 won twice as much of the black vote that McCain did. He wants double digits in 2020.

The “Rich Paul Rule” is racist. So what are Black people & athletes going to do about it? While I didn’t go to an HBCU, my parents & many other family members & colleagues did. Already an integral part of Black empowerment, HBCUs could become MUCH stronger!

President @realDonaldTrump  has made Historically Black Colleges and Universities a priority. He's appropriated more money to HBCUs in one year than ANY other President. He also established a Presidential Board of Advisors on HBCUs. #BlackHistoryMonth2020

As an HBCU grad, let me clear up a few misconceptions. HBCUs exist BECAUSE of segregation, not TO segregate. At one point, they were the ONLY option for qualified black kids to attend college. But other races have never been forbidden. ANYONE of any race can apply and be accepted

If a Black student has a Black teacher before the end of third grade, they're 13% more likely to go to college. If they have two Black teachers before the end of third grade, they're 32% more likely to go to college. Investing in public education and in HBCUs matters.

“He is saying with a loud voice, ‘I see you, I hear you, I appreciate you, I value you and I want you all to win!’” Paris Dennard on President @realDonaldTrump 's historic support for HBCUs:

President @realDonaldTrump  just signed the FUTURE Act—groundbreaking legislation to support America’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and to simplify the Federal financial aid application for millions of families!

The average HBCU graduate has $29,000 in student debt. It's time to fully fund HBCUs, reduce the outrageous burden of student debt weighing down the lives of millions of Americans and ensure everyone can get a higher education regardless of their family's income.

We will cancel student debt. We will make public colleges and universities tuition-free. We will make historic investments to strengthen and support HBCUs and MSIs. Join us live at Morehouse College:

President Trump has appropriated more money to Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) in one year than any other President. He’s also fulfilling the African American community's long-ignored request to establish a Presidential Board of Advisors on HBCUs.
