The extradition hearing of a County Down lorry driver wanted by Essex police investigating the deaths of 39 people found in the back of a lorry has begun at the High Court in Dublin:

25 stowaways were found in a lorry bound for Felixstowe, Essex after they pierced the refrigerated container they were in to get air. The ferry returned to the port of Vlaardingen where 2 were taken to hospital and the rest handed over to police.
