Declaring a national emergency over this President's vanity project is ridiculous. We don't need a wall. Instead, we should address the actual emergencies facing our country — everything from gun violence to the opioid crisis.

Since 1976, U.S. presidents have declared 59 national emergencies. Many of them involved protecting foreign citizens. The only one Congress voted to revoke was the one to protect our own country.

We should do something about the actual emergencies that plague our nation — like climate change or health care access — not playing politics in order to build a wasteful border wall.

The Democrats are investigating Trump’s use of the Emergencies'>National Emergencies Act yet they said nothing on all those occasions when Obama used it. They even defend DACA when it is clearly unconstitutional. Dangerous clowns.

I'm not sure "declaring a state of emergency to divert funds away from Americans that *actually* experienced emergencies" has the awesome optics the WH appears to think it has.
